On Africa News Tonight: South Africa’s ruling African National Congress Monday showed support for its leader Cyril Ramaphosa who recently announced that he would be fighting to stay in office, amid calls for his resignation and possible impeachment due to an independent report that implicated the ANC leader of corruption and suggested that he may have violated the constitution. Dozens of African leaders prepare for the U.S. Africa Leader’s Summit which is set for next week in Washington and will witness U.S. authorities focusing on strengthening democracy and relations with African governments.

On Africa News Tonight: Supporters of Senegal’s Lions of Teranga expressed heart break over their teams 3-0 loss to England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup Round of 16, but expressed hope that Morocco’s Atlas Lions, Africa’s sole standing team at the global football tournament, will defeat Spain to carry the continent to the quarter finals. Authorities at the Society for AIDS in Africa say their annual conference focused on AIDS and STI’s will be returning to Zimbabwe in 2023.
