On Africa News Tonight: Lesotho’s newly elected Prime Minister Sam Matekane sat down with VOA to discuss the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit and trade opportunities between Washington and the continent. South African experts say the future of President Cyril Ramaphosa is uncertain despite a recent parliamentary majority vote by members of the African National Congress who voted against an inquiry into impeaching the Southern African leader.

Argentina will play either Morocco or defending champion France in Sunday's FIFA World Cup football final in Qatar. Led by superstar Lionel Messi, Argentina defeated Croatia, 3-0, on Tuesday, in the first semifinal. It's being described as perhaps the best performance of Messi's record-tying 25 appearances at the World Cup. He opened the scoring in the 34th minute on a penalty kick and also played a part in Argentina's two other goals by Julian Alvarez. On Wednesday's Sonny Side of Sports, we'll hear reaction from Argentina fans and Sonny will also preview the Wednesday evening semifinal between France and surprise package Morocco, the first African team to reach the last four of football's premier event.

On Africa News Tonight: Standard Bank, Africa’s largest banking facility, Wednesday hosted a breakfast in Washington on the sidelines of the U.S.- Africa Leaders Summit in support of the African Women’s Impact Fund Initiative. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights reports the death of 160 civilians and 230 injured over the last four months of violence in South Sudan’s Upper Nile State.
