The South Sudan government says it has secured a 3.7 billion-dollar grant from the World Food Program for disaster management and food security for the next two years; A top official of Nigeria’s anti-drug body, says the U.S. government has announced a project that will strengthen its forensic and chemical analysis capacity; And, an aid group says at least a dozen people have been killed in clashes over the past few days in the Sudanese province of South Darfur

On Africa News Tonight: Russian mercenaries from the Wagner Group have established a presence in several African countries. Analyst Alex Vines says the Wagner Group does not have the skills nor the ability to really provide the sort of security that African countries need; Ethiopian Airlines will resume daily flights to Mekelle, the capital of the Tigray region, as an African Union-brokered peace deal progresses; And, at least 16 people were killed and 19 wounded in a bus crash in the Sudanese city of Omdurman early today.
