Algerian opposition figure Karim Tabbou – one of the most recognizable faces in the Hirak pro-democracy movement that began in February 2019 – has been taken into custody for unspecified reasons. Plus, Reuters reports Senegalese opposition leader Ousmane Sonko urged supporters yesterday to join him on a march of defiance to the capital after a prosecutor asked a court to find him guilty and sentence him to 10 years in prison on rape charges.
