On Daybreak Africa: World Health Organization authorities Wednesday declared Uganda free of the Ebolavirus after the East African nation went 42 days with zero infections but recorded a total of 55 deaths over a period of four months. Ethiopian federal forces report that their former rival Tigray forces have started handing over their weapons as part of the African Union led peace deal which is focused on ending the two-year civil war in the region.

Authorities at Doctors Without Borders Thursday welcomed a decision by Cameroonian authorities to release five members of their staff who were detained in the central African nation for a year after facing charges related to helping separatists.

Three prominent opponents to Tunisia’s President Kais Saied say they received notices from prosecutors that indicate that they are under investigation after the North African nation's president warned that judicial actions will be taken against those who defame the “symbols of the state.”
