Coming up on Africa News Tonight: Ethiopia’s federal government and authorities of the rival Tigray People’s Liberation Front Wednesday reached a peaceful agreement to cease hostilities in the Tigray region, a development hailed by the African Union, Ethiopian diaspora, and the global community. Somali authorities say the Horn of Africa nation is scrambling to avert famine amid a record drought that has affected nearly eight million locals.

Nigerian authorities say they are searching for 21 teenagers and children — the majority of whom are girls — abducted by armed men from a farm in Katsina state.
