Coming up on Africa News Tonight: Experts say the jailing of Egyptian dissident Alaa Abdel Fattah has overshadowed the UN COP27 climate summit hosted in the north African nation, though his hunger strike has ended. Chinese president Xi Jinping has pledged to support collaborative relations with Africa, a development that happened soon after he met with Senegal’s President and the leader of the African Union Macky Sall, who pledged that he will work to strengthen China-Africa relations by building a community “with a shared future.”
Sonny Side of Sports: USA's Head Coach Holds Conference in Doha & ASFAR of Morocco Wins Its First CAF Women's Champions League Title
The U.S. men's national soccer team says it will use the World Cup's huge platform to help spur change and shine light on human rights concerns. On Tuesday's Sonny Side of Sports, we'll hear from American goalkeeper Sean Johnson and the USA's head coach, Gregg Berhalter, who held a news conference in Qatar's capital, Doha. The USA will kick off its World Cup campaign November 21st when it plays Wales.
