Sudanese Refugees Flee Renewed Ethnic Violence in Darfur
Residents of El Geneina, West Darfur’s state capital, are fleeing westward towards Chad following claims by the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces, RSF, to have taken over the main army base in the capital. The city is the third in the Darfur region's five state capitals that the RSF has taken over in recent weeks. For more on the humanitarian situation in El Geneina, VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Robert Vokes, the director of programs at Mercy Corps Sudan.
