Sudanese political activist and environmentalist Nisreen Elsaim, says several Sudanese told her both sides in the country’s conflict are forcibly recruiting young people. The Southern African Development Community says an insurgency in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province has eased, so it will begin withdrawing troops from the region later this year, but some security analysts warn it may be too soon. In the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, the city of Sake has been hit by a series of explosions in recent weeks, creating insecurity and making it difficult for residents to find food.
