Music Time in Africa - Drizilik (Sierra Leone)
Being that we’re in the new year of 2022 most of the music are new releases of 2022 or the tail end of 2021 that are trending on various important charts like Billboard Hot 100, Spotify, Apple, Boomplay, and also popular on YouTube and local airplay. Three artists join Heather virtually: Washington DC-area artist BigHookz presents his single “Crazy for You”, Sierra Leone’s Drizilik talks with Heather from Freetown about his #1 song “Exodus”, and Heather also gets Afroroots reggae star Rocky Dawuni on the phone to discuss his recent Grammy Award nomination for Best Global Album. Listeners do enjoy one trip back in time to the 1977 vintage tune “Osupa” by the Lijadu Sisters of Nigeria.
