Zimbabwe’s Presidential Spokesperson Addresses Opposition Election Pleas
Zimbabwe’s presidential spokesperson, George Charamba Tuesday called on the leader of the main opposition Citizens Coalition for Change, CCC, Nelson Chamisa, to accept the verdict of the 2023 general elections that witnessed President Emmerson Mnangagwa retaining the presidency. In an interview with VOA Zimbabwe’s Blessing Zulu, Charamba said Chamisa should wait until Mnangagwa has been sworn into office before approaching the re-elected head of state “within a framework made available by government” to discuss matters of national interest.
