VOA Interview: Ghana’s John Mahama makes presidential comeback
Former Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama is set to return to office on January 7, 2025, after winning the 2024 election and defeating ruling party candidate Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia. In a sit-down interview with VOA’s Paul Ndiho, the president-elect said he looks to use his second term in office to strengthen the nation’s economy, pave way for job creation and address issues like corruption and galamsey — a term which describes ongoing illegal small-scale mining.
