VOA Africa Exclusive: Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio (Extended)
Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio said he plans to consolidate and expand on the success of his administration in his second term. Bio was declared the winner of the June presidential elections with 56% of the vote. But his main challenger, former foreign minister Samura Kamara from All Peoples Congress, APC, rejected the outcome of the poll and called for re-election. At the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, in New York City, VOA's Peter Clottey had an exclusive conversation with Bio, who discussed his vision, concerns about the elections and criticism directed towards his cabinet for being inexperienced in meeting the aspirations of Sierra Leoneans.
