US Vice President Unveils $100 Million Aid Package in Ghana
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced a $139 million aid package for Ghana Monday as she began her week-long trip to Africa, part of Washington's drive to counter growing Chinese and Russian influence on the continent. Harris's trip, which includes visits to Tanzania and Zambia, is the latest in a series of tours by senior U.S. government officials as Washington seeks to improve ties with Africa. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Kwaku Nuamah, professor at Washington-based American University, on what this historic trip will mean for Ghanaians.
