US, South Africa Form Joint Task Force
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen announced on Wednesday the formation of a joint task force with South Africa to address wildlife trafficking, money laundering and funding of terrorist groups in both nations. "First, we will increase information sharing between our financial intelligence units to better support key law enforcement agencies from South Africa and the United States,” said Yellen, speaking at the Dinokeng Game Reserve outside Pretoria. "Second, the task force will prioritize the sharing of financial red flags and indicators related to wildlife trafficking cases."
