US Republican Senate Leader to Step Down
Mitch McConnell, the senior Senator from Kentucky and current Majority Leader of the US Senate, says he will step down from his leadership role in November, marking the end of an era that spanned almost two decades. The 82-year-old has been a prominent figure in American politics for decades, and his retirement as Senate GOP leader is likely to impact the future of the Republican Party.
