US, EU Invest in Southern Africa’s Lobito Economic Corridor
The United States and European Union effort to develop the Lobito Economic Corridor, which connects the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia and Angola, has been hailed as a major initiative that will transform the three countries’ economies. US officials say President Joe Biden’s administration has made a commitment of three hundred and sixty million dollars toward the project, the largest US investment in infrastructure development in Africa. Kathy Short reports from the Zambian capital, Lusaka.
