UN Votes for Cease-Fire Agreement in Israel-Hamas War
United Nations officials convened an emergency session on Tuesday to debate and vote on a non-binding cease-fire agreement between Israel and the Hamas militant group. This comes after the United States, a U.N. Security Council member, vetoed an initial resolution seeking a humanitarian cease-fire in the ongoing conflict on Friday. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA UN Correspondent Margaret Besheer for the latest on the vote.
