UN says M23 committed ‘serious human rights violations’ in Bukavu
The United Nations said M23 rebels who recently seized Bukavu committed “serious human rights violations and abuses” after taking control of the city in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s eastern region. However, residents of the South Kivu province capital who spoke with Reuters said they felt “free and at peace” after the rebels took power.
