UN Right Chief Slams Uganda’s Law, Urges Judicial Review
The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, condemned on Tuesday Uganda's recently enacted anti-LGBTQ law, urging the country's judiciary to review it. "I hope that the judiciary is going to look into it and I can tell you, if they look at human rights law, their own constitution, they will find it in violation of it," Turk told Reuters in an interview, describing the law as "devastating.”
