Uganda Deepens Russia Ties
Uganda was one of the African countries that abstained to vote on a UN resolution condemning Russia when it invaded Ukraine in 2022. According to local observers, the move did not come as a surprise as Uganda has been deepening ties with Russia. For a deeper understanding of the relationship between Russia and Uganda, reporter Mugume Davis Rwakaringialso spoke to Phillip Kashaija, a Lecturer on Political Science and International Relations at Uganda's Makerere University.
