US appeals to United Nations for greater humanitarian response in Sudan
United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a blunt message Thursday for countries providing military support to Sudan's warring parties or profiting from the conflict: “Enough.” Blinken also announced some $200 million in additional humanitarian assistance to provide food, shelter and healthcare to the Sudanese people affected by the war. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Shayna Lewis, a senior advisor and Sudan specialist at the nonprofit Preventing and Ending Mass Atrocities about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
