Sudanese Media Group Verifies Reports Amid Ongoing Conflict
Since the start of the conflict in Sudan, many media outlets have withdrawn much of their local news coverage in the country but a group of Sudanese media trackers are stepping in. BeamReports, a Sudanese-executive community of data journalists, media verifiers, and stringers are helping to contextualize and fact-check government statements, international media, and widely circulated online claims on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. For more on the group, VOA’s Anthony LaBruto spoke to the founder, Raghdan Orsud.
