South Sudanese-American to run for presidency against incumbent Kiir
Bol Gai Deng is a human rights activist, author, and former child slave from South Sudan, now living in Richmond, Virginia. Almost all of Deng’s life was shaped by the tumult of war-torn Sudan, but he hopes to change that and become a champion for stability in South Sudan as the next democratically elected president. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Bol Gai Deng live on the set of Africa 54.
