‘South Africa Literacy Rate Dropping’: Experts
South African education experts report that basic literacy among the nation’s youth has dropped since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and add that 30 percent of children entering grade two have minimum knowledge of the alphabet and that majority of grade four students struggle with basic reading comprehension.
