Somali Lawmakers Reelect Former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud
Somalia’s parliament has elected former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud following marathon voting in Mogadishu on Sunday. The election was a rematch of the 2017 election between outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and his immediate predecessor, Mohamud. Africa 54 host Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to VOA Somali senior editor Harun Maruf about the election results.
