Republican Party wins big in US elections
The Republican party made big gains in this year's elections, winning the White House and the Senate while securing a conservative majority for the first time in four years. Results for the 435-member Congress are still undetermined but will most likely favor the Republicans, though Democrats managed to hold on to a few contested seats.
