Remains of Footballer Christian Atsu Welcomed in Military Procession
The remains of Ghana footballer Christian Atsu, who died in a devastating earthquake in Turkey, arrived in Ghana on Sunday night. His body was accompanied by his family and Ghana’s ambassador Turkey on a Turkish Airlines. Ghana’s Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia spoke at the arrival, and a military procession was held in Atsu’s honor. Atsu, 31, was caught up in a 7.8-magnitude quake that rocked Turkey and Syria on February 6, and has killed more than 45,000 people in both countries.
