Journalist Recognized for Reporting Impact of War on Women, Children in Ethiopia
2023 International Women of Courage Award recipient Meaza Mohammed of Ethiopia, says press freedom is shrinking in her country. Arrested three times in the space of one year for reporting on the impact of the war in Ethiopia on women and children, Maeza says she will continue reporting through the online platform, Roha TV, that she founded. VOA’s Simegnish Yekoye spoke with Meaza at the U.S. State Department in Washington about her work and the state of press freedom in Ethiopia.
