Nollywood Filmmaker Featured in Washington DC Area Film Festival
Nigeria's film industry, also known as Nollywood, is the world second largest film industry, producing at least 2500 movies a year. Nigerian filmmakers now screen their movies at prestigious film festivals worldwide, like the New Africa Film Festival taking place at the America Film Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland. One of the filmmakers showing their film is Tosin Otudeko, a screenwriter behind the movie Over the Bridge, a drama that is receiving positive reviews at screening. She joined VOA’s Jackson Mvunganyi live on Africa 54 to talk about the movie and the impact that streaming platforms have had on the global dissemination of Nollywood content.
