2023 Nelson Mandela International Day
July 18 is recognized as Nelson Mandela International Day, the same date that Mandela was born on in 1918. This year marks the 14th annual celebration in honor of the South African icon and his fight against apartheid. VOA’s Anthony LaBruto spoke to South Africans in the diaspora to understand what Mandela’s legacy means for newer generations.
