Hopeful Candidates Vie for DRC's Presidency
Earlier this month, the body responsible for organizing elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo, CENI, announced that twenty-four candidates, including incumbent President Felix Tshisekedi, officially submitted their applications for the December 20 presidential election. For more perspective, VOA’s Paul Ndiho spoke to Dennis Matanda, adjunct professor Catholic University in Washington, about the diverse group of candidates comprising of old rivals, first-time contenders, and previously marginalized presidential hopefuls campaigning within the country.
