Health Report: Multiple disease outbreaks concern World Health Organization
Experts are sounding the alarm on disease outbreaks happening globally. Among other things, the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported over 34,700 new cases of cholera and Acute Watery Diarrhea across 19 countries, with Africa seeing the highest number. Meanwhile, Uganda is battling a Sudan strain Ebola outbreak, with a second death confirmed in a child from Kampala. VOA’s Linord Moudou spoke to Dr. Patrick Otim, a Health Emergency Officer for the World Health Organization’s African Region, for more on how medical groups are working to contain the spread of the diseases.
