Ghana to Combat Illegal Gold Mining, Protect Environment
Ghanaian deputy minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker, says the government is implementing new measures to combat illegal gold mining. The move, he says, forms part of the effort to prevent the destruction of water bodies and the environment caused by the activity. He spoke to VOA’s Peter Clottey on the government’s efforts.
