Ethiopia Intensifies Crackdown on Journalists
The arrests of a dozen journalists in the Amhara region in the last month has renewed concern about press freedom in Ethiopia and the government’s adherence to its media law that prohibits the pre-trial detention of journalists. Tsedale Lemma, CEO of Jakenn Publishing PLC, publisher of Addis Standard magazine, spoke to VOA’s Vincent Makori about the crackdown.
