Educating South Sudanese Orphans
Bridget Thaller, a student from Virginia, has worked extensively as an advocate for schools and humanitarian assistance programs across South Sudan by providing funding and textbooks. The primary recipient of her charity work is the DMA Orphanage in Kabo, a few miles from the country’s capital of Juba, which has seen an incredible increase in primary and secondary school graduation rates. VOA’s Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to Thaller live in studio to discuss her work and motivation for helping children.
