Deadly Clashes Continue in Ethiopia’s Amhara Region
Clashes have erupted again in some areas in Ethiopia's Amhara region after a week of relative calm, with at least ten civilian deaths reported. Earlier this month, Ethiopia's House of People's Representatives voted in favor of the state of emergency declared by the federal government over violence in the Amhara region. In an interview with VOA's Paul Ndiho, Omar Mohamed, the Amhara People's Front public relations officer, discussed whether this escalation could have been prevented.
