‘Bola Tinubu is President-Elect’: Nigeria INEC
Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Wednesday announced that ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu beat former Vice President and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar and the Labor Party’s Peter Obi, to become the president elect and will succeed the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari. Through a live televised overnight announcement, INEC’s chairperson Mahmood Yakubu said Tinubu secured nearly 8.8 million votes, while Abubakar came in second with 7 million votes and Obi third with about 6.1 million votes.
