Biden Pledges $500 Million in Military Aid to Ukraine During Surprise Visit
U.S. President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Monday to hold talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The visit comes just days before the one-year anniversary of Russia's invasion, demonstrating the U.S.’ commitment to supporting Ukraine in the face of continued Russian aggression. During a joint press conference, Biden announced an additional half-billion dollars in U.S. aid to Ukraine. "Freedom is priceless. It's worth fighting for as long as it takes. And that's how long we're going to be with you, Mr. President, for as long it takes,” Biden said.
