Annual World Music Day Observed
The annual World Music Day, also known as Fete de la Musique, took place on June 21. Free public concerts and street performances were held in more than 700 cities throughout the world. VOA’s Heather Maxwell reports that in Nairobi, Kenya, the day was marked with a free concert featuring an all-female lineup from three different countries.
