On his first day back in office, United States President Donald Trump declared a “national emergency” at the southern border with Mexico by executive order, describing immigration trends as an “invasion”. Trump recently reenacted the "Remain in Mexico" policy, requiring visa or asylum applicants entering the U.S. from Mexico to stay there until their applications are processed. VOA’s Paul Ndiho spoke to Pamela Asobo-Anchang, a Los Angeles based publisher and executive editor at the Immigrant Magazine, for a look into how the executive orders are predicted to alter US immigration policy.
