Al-Qaida Linked JNIM Kills 49 Malians, 15 Soldiers
Malian military authorities Friday said militants linked to al-Qaida killed at least 49 civilians and 15 soldiers in the nation’s northeastern region — attacks occurring amid the departure of French troops and United Nations peacekeepers, who have been aiding Mali in the fight against insurgents.
