Drought, Hunger and Food Insecurity in Horn of Africa Threaten Millions
The Horn of Africa and parts of East Africa are experiencing the worst drought in 40 years. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies say millions of people are facing large-scale food insecurity with more than 5 million children facing acute malnutrition. Africa 54 host Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to IFRC Secretary General Jagan Chapagain for more on the dire conditions.
