Advancement of RSF to Sudan's Darfur region spark fears of renewed massacres
The UN Security Council met this week to discuss the crisis in Sudan’s El Fasher, which some fear is on the precipice of a large-scale massacre. U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that is the grim reality facing millions of people in El Fasher in North Darfur. According to reports by researchers at Yale University, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and its allied militias have razed multiple villages west of El Fasher and the RSF is planning an imminent attack on El Fasher. VOA's Esther Githui-Ewart speak with VOA U.S. correspondent Margaret Besheer, about the growing concerns and efforts to address the conflict.
