Polling in the United States has become one of the most common ways to gather opinions on a political candidate. From single issues to a whole campaign, opinions can generate valuable insight for political strategists. As pollsters look to include more diverse voices in their datasets, how do they ensure the information they are getting, and how they’re getting it, is accurate? VOA’s Anthony LaBruto spoke to Chris Towler, PhD., the principal researcher for Black Insights, a nonpartisan polling firm looking at African American voting participation in the United States, for the answers.
