Mozambique begins vote counting in general election
Vote counting started in Mozambique on Wednesday evening after an election that is widely expected to deliver another victory for the ruling Frelimo party, which has been in power since the country’s independence from Portugal in 1975. The vote counting process is expected to be highly scrutinized by outside watchdogs, as the ruling party has repeatedly been accused of rigging past elections.
