US politicians commemorate first Africa Day at Capitol Hill
The first ever Africa Day took place at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. this week to officially commemorate September as African Diaspora Heritage month. As VOA’s Jackson M’vunganyi reports, the event which featured speeches by local leaders and panel discussions highlighted the role of the African diaspora in shaping culture, politics and economies in the Western hemisphere.
