Uganda energy minister says oil production will not impact communities, environment
Uganda’s energy and mineral development minister, Ruth Nankaburwa Ssentamu, says there is oil in the country and that Total and Sinok companies will facilitate the production, pending the completion of the refinery and pipelines currently under construction. Responding to concerns by communities and environmentalists about displacement and pollution due to the oil production, Ssentamu tells VOA's Paul Ndiho that the government has taken the necessary steps to address the concerns
