Stars celebrate 35th Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C.
The annual Memorial Day concert brought a sense of reflection and calm among the hot dogs and beer usually associated with Memorial Day on Sunday. The concert was co-hosted by actors Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna, who are long-time supporters of veterans’ causes, and was broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Performances this year came from Cynthia Erivo, Bryan Cranston, Patina Miller and Gary LeVox. There were tributes to living veterans who served in U.S. wars and a special tribute to the Merchant Marines who served in World War II. Memorial Day is a national holiday across the United States.
