Analysis: Senegalese Voters Elect Opposition Leader Faye as President
Senegal's President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, is promising to govern the West African country with humility and transparency. Faye, a political newcomer and popular among disaffected youth, is set to be declared the next president after his main rival called him to concede defeat. Provisional results show Faye with 53.7%. Both Ba and Sall congratulated Faye, hailing the outcome as a win for Senegal.
